Chapter Six
Of all the people who had tried to impress him with their skills, Daire had never had such an amazing blow job. Jason had wanted it. He had enjoyed it. Daire would go as far as to say he was desperate to go down on Daire with zero artifice. And that was what sucked Daire in; Jason was a hundred percent real. He didnât pretend the way most men did. His face gave away his every thought. Even if it didnât, Jason would simply say whatever he thought. He had Daire confused.
Jason bounced on the stool while smashing potatoes. He could have used the mixer, but Jason claimed to like his mashed potatoes a little chunky. He looked adorably focused on his task. Daire couldnât look away from him. Even though Daire had already taken a shower, they had taken one together. Jason had blushed hot while Daire scrubbed every inch of him. Daire couldnât stop doing things to make him redden. It was oddly sexy. Everyone he knew was shameless. Jason made him feel clean. New. Something like that. He couldnât define it. Something weird kept happening in his chest, and he didnât want to let Jason out of his sight.
âI have an away game this weekend.â
Jason looked up from his task. âOkay.â
That was it. Okay. No pouting or guilt. âI leave Saturday morning and Iâll be back Sunday afternoon.â
Jason nodded. âAll right.â
Damn. Daire didnât know what he looked for, but Jasonâs flippant responses bothered him. âYou can stay here while Iâm gone.â
âThatâs okay. I know youâre busy.â
Daire ground his back teeth. âIâd like for you to stay.â
Jason eyed him. He looked confused for a second before shrugging. âIf thatâs what you want.â
A tightness he hadnât noticed eased in his chest. He didnât want Jason to go away. Not yet. âOkay. Good. I promise Iâll get back as quickly as I can.â
A bright smile lit Jasonâs face. âYou donât have to convince me. I believe you.â
Fuck. It was like getting punched in the throat. Daire spent most of his time trying to convince people to listen to him and believe him. He had forgotten how this felt. Daire had lost the trust of everyone he knew. Everyone knew he had played as many people as he could in the past. Not Jason. He blindly trusted Daireâas if Daire wasnât a monster. Daire circled the island. Jasonâs gaze followed him until he stared up at Daire. Daire hauled him to the edge of the stool and stole a kiss. He nipped at Jasonâs lips until he laughed. Then he buried his face against Jasonâs neck, teasing him with kisses and raspberries until he squealed. Daire pulled away, smiling. His cheeks hurt.
Jasonâs expression changed. His gaze moved over Daireâs face.
âWhat?â Daire had to hear his thoughts.
âYou look happy. It looks damn good on you.â
Air filled his lungs like the first fresh breath in ages. He was happy. It had been so long since he felt like this, he had forgotten the feeling.
